African pop artist "Ycee" of Tinny Entertainment | @iam_YCEE


Ycee (popularly called Jagaban) is an African pop artist born and raised in the city of Lagos, Nigeria.

Ycee was entwined in music at an early age. He got his first major shot in 2010 when he got signed to Tinny Entertainment as the label’s pioneer artist. His first single ‘Smile on Me’ was released later that year and was followed by two more singles – ‘Pass Me’ and ‘Amen’ featuring Mbryo in 2013. In 2014, he took a break from music to focus on his academics.
Ycee returned in 2015 with several monster hits including ‘Condo’ which featured Patoranking and earned nominations in the ‘best collaboration of the year’ and ‘best music video of the year’ categories at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Condo was followed closely by ‘Jagaban’, ‘Jagabanremix which featured Olamide and ‘Omo Alhaji’ which became number one hits in Nigeria and various regions in Africa.
In the same year, he also bagged nominations for the ‘Revelation of the Year Award’ at 2015 MTV African Music Awards and ‘Best Artist in African pop’ at 2015 All African Music Awards. Ycee capped the year by winning the ‘Rookie of the Year award’ at the 2015 Headies.
In 2016, Ycee’s debut EP ‘The First Wave’ was released in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment. He signed an endorsement deal with Tech Company, Samson Telecom as their celebrity ambassador; and also coined an endorsement deal with Cognac brand 'Hennessy’.
In 2017, he released another chart-topping song ‘Juice’ and ‘Don’t Need Bae’ off the EP and got listed on Billboard’s ‘Next Big Sound’.

Ycee is a strong believer in giving back to the society and has been a part of numerous campaigns such as #wormfreezone and Project Get Naked. He has also provided support for various charities around Africa.
