Home grown hip-hop artist taps into savage sound of Chicago
CHICAGO, IL – DaeDae World is an artist and businessman who isn’t afraid to be bold and brash.
Look no further than his website fuckyoswag.com and you’ll see this immediately. He doesn’t
push buttons just for the sake of antagonizing people, he does it because he wants to start a
conversation that will hopefully inspire others to think more deeply and consider changing their
lives for the better.
“I’m not trying to kill anybody,” said the Chicago-based hip-hop artist. “Music saved my life, and
the game and music scene in Chicago is real savage."When I created this site it was a Chicago-
based hip-hop website that is all about that urban culture music and style. It’s a website for us
and by us. It’s not monopolized by anyone outside the culture. I chose the abrasive words
because I wanted to acknowledge how the culture gives no fuck. I am also involved in the death
of swag. We knew it was coming.”
DaeDae World is also releasing new music to the world that fits the same vein of Chicago-
based, hard-hitting hip-hop. His most recent mixtape, “Love and Other Drugs,” dropped in July
and already has over 100,000 streams on Spotify. It’s the kind of project that he hopes to get
charted on Billboard. DaeDae Word cant wait to get in the studio and showcases more of his
home town sounds as well as his unique style.
“The music is my love,” he said. “It’s the person I love. The songs are inspired by that. Love is
the only drug we need as people. We consume ourselves with our wants instead of our needs –
and we end up loving clothes or gadgets and they become our drugs. But love is the only drug
you need. That’s the theme of the mixtape, but I’m also proud of being able to show off my
melodies. I’m extremely melodic, and I don’t feel like there are a lot of artists coming out who
are singing, rapping, trapping, and investing in crypto-currency. Not too many are doing that
trifecta like I am. If there’s a Master P of Chicago, it’s me. I’m in the trenches doing the
groundwork being the boss of my own shit.”
He’s come quite a ways from the days of being homeless as a teenager and losing his way.
Music was the one thing that gave him something to focus on and eventually became his
purpose in life. He said he “went into my cave and created my own sounds,” and one-and- a-half
years later he had worked his way off the streets and become a go-to producer for Chicago
artists since collaborating with Kanye West and Chief Keef. Today he’s one of the most sought-
after collaborators for local musicians, he has goals to preform worldwide and use his new
music to showcase his love of techniques and execution as well as his contentiousness.
