Shyteck - Imma Star Freestyle
New Jersey hip-hop artist brings new style to old-school sound
NEWARK, NJ – A new Latino hip-hop artist from Newark, New Jersey is lighting up the East Coast with his original new sound and style that is a blend of lyrical rap and melodic singing. He goes by the name Shyteck, and his music is infused with relatable stories and lyrics for anyone who is a fan of hip-hop.
His new EP, “Thee EP,” puts that unique sound and style on display with four songs exploring all of the various facets that make him the artist that he is.
“Growing up as a kid I always watched MTV and BET and I was a fan of hip-hop and R&B for as long as I can remember,” Shyteck said. “My mom loved playing that kind of music loud in the house, and it led to me exploring different genres and styles of music. Chris Brown in particular was a huge influence. He inspires me and I want to be that kind of music. But it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I really started to take it serious. I was in the military for a little bit, and any time I had extra I would write music. Now I’m ready to show it to the world.”
The first single from the EP is a song called “Imma Star Freestyle.” It’s a song that serves as an anthem to the world in a way that says, “don’t look past me as an artist.” Shyteck said he hopes to exceed all expectations with his music, and this song is the first step in showing the raw talent he possesses. Self-described as a “little Uzzi and a little Torrey Lanez,” Shyteck definitely has his own way of doing things.
“Most of my music is about my lifestyle and the stuff I’ve been through as a child,” he said. “Growing up in an urban environment and living in Newark most of my life, I saw a lot of things. I saw people get robbed, shot, stabbed. I had people that I knew had my back, and people who said they loved me but I knew they really didn’t. I saw people going through legal troubles and just a lot of other things that you seen when you grow up in the neighborhood that I did. And I’ve always tried to be different than all of that. I want others to be able to relate to that through my music. But it’s more than that. My music is basically for people who can sit down and relax and listen to good music. They can listen to my songs and just have a good time. It will make people want to dance and just have fun and rock with it. That’s the kind of music I make.’
