Cast - All This Money

Bronx-based music artist and filmmaker launches new
mixtape and TV series
BRONX, NY – Gregory Jackson – known professional as Cast – is Bronx-based film-writer and recording artist whose new mix tape, “Rags 2 Riches – The Beginning,” will combine all of his artistic talents into a project unlike anything the entertainment industry has ever before seen.
Cast was an artist on the Diamondback label from 2003 to 2006, and has worked with other executives from major labels in the years since. Recently he signed with Top Floor Productions, and the first collaboration with that company resulted in the single “All of this Money (feat. Sheena Moore)” – a song that has been gaining a lot of traction all across the country since its release earlier this year. The song features an up-tempo, modern-day hip-hop vibe.
Cast is now ready to follow up the success of that single with his new mixtape, “Rags to Riches,” which will feature 10 songs. But that’s just one part of the puzzle for this major project. Cast also will tap into his film-making skills to put together a six-episode “Rags to Riches” television show that will launch on his YouTube channel later this year.
“Both the mixtape and the six-episode series will be describing a kid’s life from not having anything, living and learning the street life, to transcending from that to being a successful person in the business world”.
The mixtape is slated to drop on June 26, with the TV series planned for a release sometime toward the end of the year. The series is based upon a true story about a kid from the Bronx Cast himself started doing music when he was 13 when he met a producer named Skitzo. The two started making beats together and Cast eventually started writing music. Over the years he has worked to develop a unique sound and style that he said combines lyrics with a modern-day sound for hip-hop.
“It’s a unique sound that collaborates lyrics and the true sound and essence of hip hop,” he said. “I really want to be known for a quality sound you can vibe out to. You can hear a story in my music, but at the same time you could be in a club and hear one of my party tracks come on and bounce to it. My goal with this mixtape was to create a concise project that you could put on and listen from the beginning to the end. A lot of times mixtapes and albums don’t give you that – you might like one or two songs. But I’m bringing variety in a way that will make you want to listen to the project from start to finish.”
